Rideouts no rideouts took place last month, due to bad weather conditions, holidays and other commitments by members.

Rideout should be OK for this Sunday if weather OK, either Hawes/Settle or Wales (leaving from Lymm).

Memberships were renewable in July DL requested those who had not yet rejoined to do so.

DL to issue email to all members so that those who are unable to attend the meeting can also be reminded.

Xmas Do Blackpool ’08 – deposits now required - £10 pp.  SB to take and monitor numbers.

NHC already has 40+ members confirmed as attending…

Cost will be approx £44pp for B&B, Xmas meal, band and damned good time – bargain!!

DL advised that we are investigating a new print company for the merchandise, based in Sheffield.  They are the company which produces the merchandise for Rainy City and seem to be very flexible.

DL to contact to discuss.

RL brought up the subject of trips for 2009 – Ireland 2008 was a great success.  Possibly go back to Ireland to another area or DL suggested a Scottish trip (for those who get seasick…).

DL to look at possibilities for both and propose for end of year.

Tony Bailey advised that the website is not getting many hits – members are to be encouraged to use the site more, otherwise it will stagnate.

DL asked if members thought it would be a good idea to publish meeting notes on the website, so that members unable to attend could keep up-to-date with what has been discussed -  confirmed as a good idea.

DL to liaise with TB.

RL advised again about BMF discount for HOC members and quoting the HOC membership code for insurance, tickets etc.

Members who want to use this facility should contact RL to obtain the code.

Future Events:

Whitley Bay Festival of Motorcycles is taking place this weekend, sponsored by the Avalon Hotel.

17 August – rideout planned to both Manchester and Chester HD.

24 August – ride planned to Baildon to catch the Shipley Rally rideout to Harewood House.

For all rideouts, members will be texted on the Thursday/Friday before the Sunday ride, to confirm destination and time/place of meeting.

Members are requested to respond to this text with either Y or N.

Those who text Y will be contacted around 9am on the Sunday morning if the weather is bad and the ride has to be cancelled.

Members are also requested to bring raffle prizes to each meeting.
